Always wanted to learn American Mahjong but not sure where to start?
Join us for a relaxed afternoon at the Mahj Girl Clubhouse and learn the game from A to Z.
No previous Mahjong experience is needed. This class is specifically designed to give new players the confidence to sit down at a table and PLAY.
During Mahj 101 we'll cover:
✨ The Mahjong tiles and what they mean
✨ Setting up your game
✨ Understanding the National Mah Jongg League card
✨ How to choose and build a hand
✨ The Charleston
✨ Jokers and exposures
✨ Calling and exchanging tiles
✨ Game etiquette and terminology
✨ Playing through complete hands
✨ Tips to help you start playing independently
And most importantly — you'll actually PLAY!
This isn't about sitting through a lecture. We'll walk through the rules together and then get tiles in your hands so you can begin putting everything into practice.
